Noted. Thanks.

'Personally think that the reply 'Noted. Thanks' in emails is extremely rude'.

My friend and I shut up instantly. All the merry and joyful gestures stopped at the very moment.
' It's just me.'

Weird. That was exactly what I felt too.

You see, the 'Noted. Thanks' reply sounded harsh, even to me despite the fact that I used those replies day-in and day-out (Note the past tense). I agree with her. Such replies make us sound a little less human and so much of a corporate robot. A little human approach is always nice in a workplace.
' I guess it's me, you know. I am very old-fashioned.'

Again, my mouth was clamped shut. When was the last time I give out similar treatment aka old-fashioned or a little human? We are so busy these days that we just want to be as short and concise as possible. 'Thank you' become 'Thanks', no greetings to the recipient and so forth.

I do think we somehow lost our touch. This little conversation made me realize just that. A good eye-opener.
