So, here I am, taking (drugs) medicine and since I feel useless, why not promote Kapsule 2nd edition?

Yes, it is here again for downloading, the Second Dosage. The second edition was the result of the blood, sweat and tears (or rather, coffee and sandwiches) of Kapasitor members. You can find the best poems, excellent stories and marvelous artworks, combined in one e-magazine. There are a lot of excellent pieces in kapasitor and the English team really tries hard to pick them and bring them together. Mind you, it is not easy.

So how do you get to download Kapsule May 2010; Second Dosage? Try this link. Or here. Or this one too.

  Ok that was annoying.

  Anyways, moving on.

Kapsule, as you know it, does not only focus on writing. In this edition, you can even watch a video from paktam85 and rama_rama, making it the first e-magazine from kapasitor to be featuring video from its users and we do hope so this will not be the last e-magazine in this website to do just that. Hence, we would like to welcome you to come up with your video to be shared with all of us. It can be about you, about someone else or anything.

And, we would also like to call for submission under the theme 'blood'. There is something special in this edition but I really cannot give too much away because I think the drug effect is kicking in. With that, I leave you with the hope to see more of your contributions.

p/s: it's not to late to checkout the place to get things for your wedding day. check out our review and wait for the ugly truth of VShub ;)

If you have an image of a person wearing a black trench coat, a black fedora hat, a black glove and black boots carrying a basket, trying to hide from the other customers, you can wipe that image off. That has nothing to do with mystery shopper but of course, fits well with the description of ‘trying to look mysterious while shopping’.

Today, people, I’m going to tell you about my dream job because I'm nice like that (because I have to wait for the mask on my face to be ready in about 11 minutes).

I love shopping, considering that I’m a woman, that is pretty normal. People have asked about my dream job and my answer will always be ‘getting paid to shop’. And then we laughed but deep down inside, I know it is possible. You ask how? Mystery shopper of course.

Mystery shopper is a system (pardon for this textbook-like introduction) where companies keep track of the performance in their branches, usually related to customer service. The ambiance, the staff, are they looking presentable (not necessarily drop dead gorgeous) and of course, how they treat you as a consumer. For example, a company wants to check the customer service in its fuel station in Bangsar. So, the mystery shopper will be sent out to check out the place. Mind you, you are not allowed to flaunt it to the public that you are a mystery shopper (I think Syud has this kind of experience). It kills the mystery, no?

The mystery shopper will be given a checklist and what they are supposed to do. They will visit the branches and try to look nonchalant, blend in the crowd. Of course, they need to prove that they have completed their tasks to the company who sent them.

The pay for mystery shopper varies. Imagine that you visit a bank, deposit money and for that, you get RM 35 (company will pay for any bank charges, in certain cases). And this is just for beginners. Just imagine how much those who are more experienced may earn (no, you do not have to close your eyes to imagine it).

I would like to give it a try though. No. Would LOVE to give it a try.

So there you go. That is the kind of job that I want. Sipping coffee in Starbucks and get paid for it, buying things in a convenience store and getting paid. I want that.

Any one interested to hire me?

p/s: for women out there, we have a recommendation  in our latest review. check out this new review where you can find all you need to know about beauty products.

senyuman menawan habis la
Originally uploaded by uculer
ya mari kita semua senyum simpul seperti imran.

buat masa ini, review centre masih lagi macam budak baru merangkak, masih baru lagi. imran tak kira sebab dia dah besar tapi dia malas nak jalan.

BTW

i've mumbled a few times about being a freelancer. i do not have a degree in IT so most of the times, people will wonder what i do. and i'm not someone having the multimedia or creative side background.

for those who stumbled upon this piece and wondering the tips on how to become a ghostwriter, i can tell that the most important thing is time management. second is to give a good impression to the future client. write a proper sample to engage the client's interest.

Tigers. I’ve always been intimidated but at the same time in awe about tigers. For me, they are majestic creatures that can protect themselves. Tigers for me are huge, playful yet very heavy kittens. I’ve read a lot of stories where they were unable to estimate their own strength and accidentally hurt their keepers or workers in the zoo. For me, this is not because tigers are vicious. Tigers are just playful and being animals, of course they do not know their strengths.

Of all the tigers, I like Siberian tigers the most (apart from Tigger hihi). The image of a tiger surrounded by snow looks really cool for me (in terms of my views on the wildlife world).

But I’m sad to tell you (and also myself) that the number of tigers have been declining steadily. And no no no, declining steadily should not be taken lightly. You can always gasp like right now because they are only 500 tigers in Malaysia. Imagine that nearly 50 years ago, there were like 3,000 tigers. How can the number dwindle so low?

We have poachers and we have those involved in illegal wildlife trading cartel. Tigers’ organs are being sold illegally, their meat consumed in the belief that it is beneficial to the body while their teeth and head are being turned into souvenirs. Is it necessary to have their parts decorate our homes? We can always hang pretty pictures or the family picture, why choose those that originate from tiger? Or cross-stitch. Must do one today.

Why do I care so much for tigers? Because tigers make up for the ecological system. Without tigers, how can the food chain in the jungle be kept (yes, I think about food constantly)? How can the stability in the forest be kept?

There are only 10 men that protect and patrol Belum forest in Pahang. At the size of 5 times bigger than Singapore, I can imagine that patrolling the abovementioned forest is not easy. So why not give tigers a second chance? Give them another chance so we can ensure that it will not suffer the same fate of dodos or Tasmanian tigers that only live in books currently.

So let’s do our part and pledge our commitment here. After deducting zakat, donating to the poor, to your kids, giving money to your parents, feeding your siblings, go pay for your girlfriends’ new shoes, why not make a small donation at this very crucial time? Just visit this website to do so. So have fun during the weekend and Happy Chinese New Year!

just got back from mak's house. the pinggang is crying with agony, trying to get the owner to fetch professional help due to the pain but noooo...we've got to live with that pinggang because nephew is going to get bigger,so you'd better endure it. and here's the heartbreaker:

just woke up from sleep so that explains the face

alhamdulillah, i don't take coffee every single day anymore. although the first week was really excruciating, it gets better after awhile. thank you for those who supported me *wipes tears. i can't thank you people enough *blows nose. i can survive unless i'm extremely sleepy. i still can't stomach green tea every single day but I'M NEARLY THERE.

life's good, yesterday managed to help someone review a movie on futsal. i really hope it can be of assistance to his futsal magazine and if you are a huge fan of the game, please do not hesitate to sign up. and that includes you cousin, ha tu bajet aku tatau la ko bace tu. amacam smalam keje? oke? hari ni nak belasah baskin robbins tak? mesti kau nak muntah dah tgk eskrem tu.

  oppss sidetracked.

anyways. here's another interesting happening at kapasitor.net. this is the first time the website is going to have an essay writing competition for schools in Keningau, Sabah. in fact, this is the first time kapasitor.net is going to have any type of competition like that. for more update on that, here's the link to read the full story. so pupils in Keningau, wait for the competition because it is coming (i'm messaging the head of the competition but he has not replied yet so brace for it).

  ah cross-stitching! here we come!

eh jap. main game dulu :D

partner in-crime berada di australia

beliau batuk-batuk yg agak jahat bunyinye
maka saya pun batuk tanpa henti selama beberapa minit

selepas meletakkan beg di tempat duduk (macam kat sekolah plak)
(dan selepas bermain mata...i mean, said hi)
panadol soluble, strepsil
'you are about to catch a cold' kata uncle itu
'yes uncle' too right you are
'there's panadol cold'
'ouh really?'

I really can't believe my eyes when I got an email from BookXcess saying that I am one of the winners for Blog Bonanza 4. And I nearly couldn't believe my eyes when I read their post regarding the winners. It's live finally being able to email Jared Padalecki, then having to choose between Jason Wade and Jason Mraz or getting an invitation from Damien Kulash for dinner. OK, obviously day dreaming there.

some of books I managed to buy during one of my many visits to BookXcess.
With Hari Raya approaching on a jet plane, people should be getting ready for Raya celebration, including me. But no need to ask, the need to buy new clothes, shoes and shawls in multiple numbers have long departed. So I settled on getting just the basic ones and of course cheap (being the cheapskate that I am). However, the drawback will be that I want one made from cotton. It's hard to find (especially during this time) and of course, expensive. Well low supply, high demand ... ok stop with the theory.

I know what I'm getting myself into. After all, emak started asking for my idea of baju raya long before June. Might have been January but I couldn't decide then. And I managed to bring along friends to accompany me to Amcorp Mall because one of them was amazed on my ability of adding more books already mountain-high pile of unread books. I decided that they need to know about BookXcess and dragged them to Amcorp Mall, with me intending to buy baju kurung.

The one that I wanted was nowhere to be seen (I have this whole design in my mind) and I proceeded to show them the one place that I go to almost every month, beating the frequency of my visits to Times located about 5 minutes from my office. I'd travel from Pantai Dalam to Amcorp Mall to buy for books.

Ouh pardon me. I have the ability to be side-tracked like 48 times in one minute (of course, exaggerating).

They got really excited and the best part was our visit was on 30 August 2009 and my friends wanted to become members. Two members and I got 50% rebates on my books. i caved in into temptations when I'd clearly rejected the idea to go to BookFest in KLCC at that time. I was too happy to get cheap books and decided that Baju Raya can wait (which by now has been changed to there will be no baju raya this year).

Yes, I have a thing for books. My room is a shoebox and its size was further reduced by the existence of books it stored. But I will never stop because one day, I want to have my own library. Luckily BookXcess grant me the opportunity to get more books at affordable price.

Another reason to love BookXcess was the news at the very top of the entry where I can now pick either Pook Collection, High School Musical or Inkheart. Nothing beats a good book for me because books are precious.
Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.  ~Charles W. Eliot
With that in mind, why wait? If you love books, head on to Amcorp Mall and give BookXcess a visit. Or if you are unsure on what this woman is ranting on, check out their blog first. You'll be surprised.
